Filtsand Australia

Adelaide Industrial Sands (AIS) is a proud South Australia Company that specialises in high quality filtration graded sands and gravels for water filtration, water treatment plants and the Australian drilling industry.

Owned and operated by Adelaide Industrial Sands Pty Ltd, all our products are manufactured at our Salisbury South plant which utilises state of the art technology.

All of the products manufactured by Adelaide Industrial Sands have been washed, dried and screened to industry standards and customer specification.

Our sand is extracted from our own quarry at Clinton Sands located on the Yorke Peninsula.  The sand is washed on site to remove unwanted clay and silt. The washed product is then brought to our processing plant at Salisbury South where it is dried and screened utilising state of the art machinery and technology.

Filtration Media Sands

Filtsand Australia – Filtration Media Sands are mainly used for swimming pool sand filters (both domestic and commercial).

The sub-angular grain shape of our filter media will provide solid holding capacity and a transport mechanism of any filter design.

The applications for use in the filtration market are numerous and we are able to produce to any specification required. All products are tested as produced and all shipments are guaranteed to meet your specifications. Adelaide Industrial Sands can also supply high silica filter gravel.

When specifying filter media size it is best to state the Effective Size and Uniformity Coefficient or the Nominal Size required. Only one system should be used.

Effective Size (ES) represents the sieve size opening that will allow 10%, by weight, of a representative sample for the filter material to pass.

Uniformity Coefficient (UC) represents the ratio of the sieve size opening from which 60% of the sand by weight will pass, divided by the sieve size opening from which 10% of the sand by weight will pass.

Filtration Media Gravel

Filtsand Australia provides gravel pack sands suitable for all types of filtration.

Our Filtration Media Gravel are mainly used in water treatment plant projects and as base substrate for larger sand filters.

The Filter Media Gravel Packs can be supplied and delivered in bulk by tippers or pneumatic tanker loads, 1 tonne to 1.5 tonne bulk bags, 20kg bags and custom bag sizes.
